I’m 30. I’ve been getting headaches for the past six months or so. Before that, I never had headaches before. I get them when I’ve been reading or when I’ve been frowning or squinting (like if I’m furrowing my brow because I’m concentrating, or squinting because the sun is in my eyes). The pain is usually in my forehead above my eyebrows, but at the moment, I have a pain in my temple.

Botox is emerging as a remedy for migraine headaches. An injectable cosmetic treatment for facial lines and wrinkles, Botox is actually a neurotoxic protein, called botulinum toxin type A, produced by the anaerobic, Gram positive, spore-forming bacteria Clostridium botulinum and which causes botulism. In its cosmetic application it acts by limiting the mobility of muscles underlying wrinkled skin, thereby rendering lines and wrinkles less noticeable.

Herbal Medicine The herb feverfew is one of the most effective natural medicines for migraine. Dried feverfew is sold in capsules by health food stores, and the recommended daily dose is 125mg, or one fresh leaf in a sandwich daily. Headaches are often unbearable and if you suffer from frequent and long lasting tension headaches or migraine headaches, you may have condition called TMJ disorder. Other common symptoms experienced in suffers of TMJ syndrome are headaches, jaw, ear or facial pain and even decreased hearing.  Clicking or popping of the jaw and neck, as well as shoulder pain, are the frequent effects of TMJ disorder. Even though TMJ is a common disorder, many people are unaware that they have this condition and continue enduring the pain.

There are a number of things that cause TMJ with the majority of cases resulting in an incorrect bite, tooth grinding and malocclusion. Malocclusion means that your upper and lower teeth do not close together in the correct way and are misaligned, causing trauma. Fortunately there is a treatment for the headache caused by TMJ syndrome that will remove the symptoms permanently. The procedure involves patients having a bite assessment, identifying the ideal bite and subsequently achieving the ideal bite through Orthotic Therapy. Orthotic therapy requires you to wear an unobtrusive oral TMJ splint during the day and in the evenings. The TMJ splint is designed to replicate your natural teeth and will not obstruct functionality.

Why Do You Get A Headache?

Once an employee tendered a leave application to his office manager, reading:

“Due to expected circumstances tomorrow, I am having an unbearable headache today. Kindly grant me two days leave, for today and tomorrow.”

What were those expected circumstances? His degree results would be declared tomorrow; he was certain about his failure- no doubts about it! So, the poor guy was having headache in advance!

He started me on 15 mg of Topamax about 2 week ago and has not helped my headaches all too much. I got an MRI yesterday, and am waiting for the results.

Almost 4 years ago I had Lyme Disease. I had a huge bulls eye rash which covered my whole thigh, along with swollen knees and joint pain. I took antibiotics for the required time(2 weeks or so) and it all seemed to be fine.
