Can an MRI help cure a headache?
My mom who is 50 and in otherwise good health has had a headache for about a month now. She describes it as pain accompanied by “fuzziness” and dizziness. She said it feels as if her head is in a fog. She had an MRI yesterday, and today, after over a month, the headache is gone. Is this just some coincidence, or did the MRI have something to do with the headache going away? Also not that they did give her a dye through an IV for the MRI. Thanks!

MRI’s are just like X-rays where they take pictures of your head. Does your mother fain sickness every once in a while? Sometimes people psychological feel better once they go in and get checked out. I’m not trying to step on toes or anything, but I’m pretty sure what your mother went through the past few days didn’t help the problem as they are only used to diagnose the problems.
My other thought would be the radiation from the MRI may have in some way acted like an “aspirin”. Just some thoughts.
Ok, sounds like its neurological. And no, the MRI cant take away a headache. Its just by coincidence.
Glad shes feeling better and good luck with results!
It could be the dye that was used. Studies just released show that a specific color of blue food dye has the ability to seep into the spine and helps prevent inflamation after a back injusry thus speeding recovery.
