Let’s face it, no woman wants to put up with symptoms of menopause. Here are just a few of the nasty symptoms that are associated with menopause:

-Painful cramps-Headaches-Headaches-Irritability-Sore breasts-Lower back pain-Abdominal pain-Extreme mood swings that can make you flip out on people for no apparent reason!-And so much more!

Do any of the above side effects of menopause sound appealing to you? Didn’t think so. Luckily, today we have a revolutionary safe new tool to help fight these symptoms. These symptoms are often caused by fluctuations in your hormones. This is something completely out of your control, yet it can make you feel incredibly out of control physically and mentally, especially by the onset of hot flashes.

It is important to try to keep it under control and to not let people get to you when you are experiencing such symptoms. Fortunately, there is hope for you to help restore balance and normality to your life. So what’s the answer and solution? Natural progesterone therapy. This form of therapy can help alleviate symptoms of menopause from the inside out, often with zero side effects. Natpro’s natural progesterone cream is one such tool for successfully combating the negative symptoms of menopause. It works by helping to naturally enhance your body’s natural ability to produce progesterone. It is 100% organic and completely safe to use.

Relief can be found within 5 days typically. The quality of the cream used will determine how long it will take before benefits can be seen. Other natural progesterone creams contain unnatural, unsafe ingredients and can take months before any form of alleviation is seen. Progesterone cream can be used anytime during the day, sometimes even on more than one occasion.

So how much cream should a woman use? Post menopausal use is recommended at half a teaspoon (or 2 grams) daily. Many women can even discontinue using the cream once their symptoms have cleared up. This is usually achieved after a few months of use, when beneficial results are consistent. So what makes Natpro completely organic and natural?

The following ingredients are 100% organic:

-Spring water-Vitamin E-Organic citrus extract-Natural progesterone extract 2000 mg-Organic macadamia oil-Sodium borate

All these ingredients are very gentle when applied to the skin. The active ingredient of course, is natural progesterone extract. With Natpro’s formulation of progesterone, many women report a major reduction in symptoms of hot flashes, headaches and sore breasts. Natural progesterone therapy really helps alleviate symptoms of menopause and using a 100% natural progesterone cream such as Natpro can provide you with the relief you deserve.

Is Menopause Causing My Horrific Headaches?

Menopause can be a real pain in the neck, actually to be more precise, the pain can be in your head. Sometimes it’s necessary to just shut off the rest of the world, stay in bed in a dark room with an over-the-counter gel-cal, a cool eye pillow and some soothing soft music until the pain finally subsides.

Recognized Causes of Headaches

Headaches can be caused by many things, some physical and some psychological. Common contributors to blinding headaches include stress, cigarette smoke, eyestrain and lack of sleep. Some types of food may actually cause headaches as well, such as alcohol, chocolate, onions, and aged cheese. Meat tenderizer, soy sauce, and many Chinese foods contain the ingredient MSG, which can also cause a headache. If you can eliminate the above, one at a time, you may be able to find what is triggering your headaches. To do this accurately, you’ll have to start a food diary.

If you are suffering from acute headaches or migraines, check with your health care practitioner to see if the headaches are caused by tension or by if they are estrogen related. If you have a history of migraines, you may have to get two opinions from medical professionals before you will actually find a medication that will be affective in treating your migraines. There are over-the-counter painkillers made just for migraines, but in severe cases, you may need your physician to issue a prescription.

Suggested Headache Remedies

If you suffer from frequent headaches, you might try one of the following remedies to try to get relief:

1. Massage Therapy (this will relax you and could help with tension headaches)2. Keep a diary of the foods, drugs and drinks you consume (as well as upsetting situations). See if you can find a connection with your headaches to one or more of the above.3. Reduce or eliminate your use of specific well-known triggers, i.e., cured meat, alcohol.4. Try to eliminate or reduce the amount of stress in your life. Sometimes the way you respond to stress magnifies its affect on you. If there is a particular person that just drives you crazy, realize the potential for a headache every time they come around. Try to relax and not let them get to you.5. Try some natural cures, i.e., yoga, guided imagery, affirmations and relaxation exercises.6. Take a nap. (Nothing rejuvenates you like a nice nap.)7. Never over-medicate on over-the-counter medications.8. For extreme and persistent headaches, talk to your health care provider. If their first suggestion doesn’t work, tell them; keep working with them until your needs are met.

Most headaches start with stress and build up until they are insufferable. Typically, women have more headaches than men. I wonder if it’s because men express their stress in different ways, like driving too fast and using noisy power tools. Perhaps we ladies just need to slow down a bit, we don’t have to get everything done today!

It could possibly be a fair guess that every person has suffered the distress of a headache. But naturally there are headaches, and then you’ll find migraine headaches that are different. I understand the severe pain of migaines because I used to put up with, terribly, from them during a young age. I am so relieved they stopped simply because they were extremely painful. Headaches in general, including migraines, haven’t been solved by physicians since they do not have a full grasp on their causes. Everything is clouded and unclear by the simple fact that people do not feel headaches, and pain, all the very same way. But that is only one small component of a large and intricate picture.

Nonetheless, just like with so many topics in medical science, a lot is recognized about migraine headaches. To begin with, migraines are sometimes called, vascular headaches, which means the vascular system of blood veins as well as arteries. People have been known to have a migraine when exposed to excessive temperatures in either direction. Then there are men and women who can have this type of headache if they experience substantial sleep loss or too much hunger. The same as with so many other medical issues, there are certain triggers that apparently influence this condition. Another cause for a migraine can be substantial and chronic amounts of stress.

Regarding the intense pain, migraines are unique because the pain seems to take longer to build up. However, that is just an additional clue concerning migraines, but each and every piece of the puzzle helps. Every bit of knowledge can give some kind of clue. Over 50 % of people who get migraines seem to have family members who also have this trouble which implies a possible genetic influence. Having said that, genetics is not associated with everybody, and so that is another facet that has to be considered.

Shifts in the quantities of hormones can induce these headaches in certain women. There is a number of women who can have problems either right before or immediately after their monthly period cycle. In these occasions, doctors are aware of changes in estrogen levels. Additional periods of hormone variations involve menopause and of course pregnancy. As you could possibly be thinking, there can be some who have higher occurence of migraines at those times. There is an recognized practice called hormone replacement therapy which can produce more intense migraines which is hard to imagine. But the thing that brings about some difficulty is that these findings are not universal; they do not manifest for all women who experience migraines.

Other extra migraine precursors involve overwhelming scents from virtually anything plus vibrant lights or loud music. Doctors are not able to ascertain the exact process that leads to someone suffering from a migraine. Still there are physical causes with some people such as rigorous physical exertion of almost any kind. All of that helps make unraveling the mystery of migraines much more difficult.

It could possibly be a fair guess that every person has experienced the discomfort of a headache. If it comes to painfulness, the common, ordinary headache does not even start to compare to migraine headaches. Actually, I used to get migraines when I was very young but they ended. They lasted several years and then suddenly stopped, and I am thrilled for that. There is much to be discovered about migraines because they are not understood by researchers. There are many reasons for this not the least of which is individuals can perceive and feel pain in distinct ways. This is a hugely involved area, and this indicates doctors have a long way to go before a clear picture emerges.

Even so, just like with so many topics in medicine, a lot is recognized about migraine headaches. You can hear migraines referenced as a form of vascular headache, and that merely means it is related to the system of veins and vessels in our body. People happen to be known to get a migraine when exposed to excessive temperatures in either direction. Next there are people who can have this type of headache if they encounter abnormal sleep loss or too much hunger. All this implies that there are external factors for migraines in a few people. Another reason for a migraine can be excessive and chronic amounts of stress.

Regarding the extreme pain, migraines are unique because the pain seems to take much longer to build up. However, that is just one more clue related to migraines, but every last piece of the puzzle helps. These revelations just look to be more pieces to the entire puzzle. There may also be a genetic aspect involved, however that does not seem to pertain to all migraine sufferers. That does point to other potential causes such as external triggers that produce the same effect.

For women, there can be a connection with hormone variations and migraines. The usual menstrual cycle can often cause a migraine either preceeding or following the cycle. Estrogen does not stay stable at these times for women. Maternity and subsequently the menopausal years are also periods of wild alterations in hormones. A proportion of women will very likely have a greater frequency of migraine episodes during these periods. It could be important to note that the technique known as HRT, hormonal replacement therapy, can make migraines more painful than they already are. An additional feature that really isn’t going to help with comprehending is that isn’t seen in every woman who gets migraine headaches.

Other extra migraine precursors involve overpowering odors from virtually anything plus vibrant lights or loud music. It is clear that the range of migraine triggers is highly diverse. Even more circumstances that lead to this can be a greater than usual amount of physical activity. The precise reasons for these headaches is a difficult condition for researchers to understand.

Article by Laura Diamond

Headaches can be terribly debilitating, and it is something many of us have had the misfortune to endure. If it comes to painfulness, the common, ordinary headache won’t even begin to compare to migraine headaches. I had a period when very much younger, and I used to have migraines about once a month. I don’t have them, but I can tell you they are tremendously painful experiences. It is somewhat fascinating that headaches, and especially migraines, are not fully understood by the medical community. There are hundreds of factors, if not more, and one very puzzling element is the people have varied pain sensations. But there is much more to this story which is complicated and has many parts to it.

Even so, just like with numerous topics in medicine, a lot is known about migraine headaches. To begin with, migraines are sometimes termed, vascular headaches, which means the vascular system of blood veins and arteries. Apparently either very low or perhaps high temperatures may encourage a migraine event. Then there could be other causes such as insufficient amounts of various physical needs connected with eating and sleeping. Exactly like with so many other medical issues, there are certain triggers that appear to influence this condition. We mentioned several areas, already, but there are others such as chronic stress.

Relating to the overwhelming pain, migraines are distinct because the pain appears to take much longer to build up. That suggests certain ramifications to doctors but nothing particularly definitive. It appears that the current situation is that medical researchers have a lot of data from which they can try to use. There may also be a genetic factor involved, however that does not seem to pertain to all migraine sufferers. But since not every person is in that category, then that directs doctors to examine ourside influences.

Swings in the quantities of hormones can bring on these headaches in some women. The usual menstrual cycle may cause a migraine either prior to or following the cycle. Estrogen does not stay stable at these situations for women. Further periods of hormone alterations include menopause and certainly pregnancy. As you could possibly be thinking, there are some who have higher incidences of migraines at those times. The intensity of a migraine can be made worse for some if they have replacement therapy for hormones. Alternatively, all of those experiences do not happen to all women who endure migraines.

There are numerous other factors involved that may result in a migraine among them sensory stimulation such as loud noises, certain odors, bright lights and an assortment of smells including perfumes and other diverse odors. It is distinct that the variety of migraine triggers is highly diverse. Some people can get them from physical activities that tend to be in excess of what that person normally gets. All of that helps make unraveling the secret of migraines considerably more difficult.

Stress is a factor with many other individuals, and perhaps especially if it is prolonged stress.

The abnormally high magnitude of pain from these headaches normally takes some time before being completely experienced, and that has caught the attention of research. However, that is just another clue about migraines, but every last piece of the puzzle helps. These discoveries just appear to be more pieces to the entire puzzle. There could perhaps be a genetic aspect involved, however that does not seem to pertain to all migraine sufferers. That tends to point to other likely causes such as external triggers that produce the same effect.

For women, there can be a relationship with hormone variations and migraines. In fact, prevalence of migraines have been noted during the times just prior to or after the menstrual cycle happens. It is known that estrogen lowers quite a bit during those time frames. Further periods of hormone alterations consist of menopause and certainly pregnancy. A number of women will very likely have a greater frequency of migraine problems during these periods. The severity of a migraine can be worsened for some if they undergo replacement therapy for hormones. On the other hand, all of those experiences do not appear to all women who suffer from migraines.

There are numerous other factors involved that may trigger a migraine including sensory arousal such as loud sounds, particular odors, bright lights and an assortment of smells such as perfumes and other various odors. So there is no apparent single cause that might be pinpointed with this affliction. Still there are physical causes with some people including intense physical exertion of just about any kind. The exact reasons for these headaches is a challenging condition for researchers to understand.

Menopause is commonly referred to as a change of life as this is a phase of life where a woman stops menstruating. The symptoms of menopause includes the following : mainly hot flashes and palpitations, and also vaginal dryness, insomnia, headaches, breast tenderness, memory problems and weight gain, to mention a few.

This is not an abrupt process but rather a gradual process that takes place over time. For this reason some doctors prefer to say that a woman has reached menopause if they haven’t menstruated for a year. Menopause can also be diagnosed, usually after missing her period for three months, by the testing of hormone levels, specifically the levels of the follicle-stimulating hormone ( FSH ). Although, the testing of the estrogen, progesterone, testosterone and other hormones at mid-cycle can give a clearer result. If we look at menopause statistics we can see that menopause does not affect all women in the same way or even at the same time.

The average age for onset of menopause is 51 years. But then again, 8 out of 100 women stop menstruating before the age of 40 whereas 5 out of 100 women can menstruate up to the age of 60. A rule of thumb that is often applied in predictions about menopause is that if a girl starts menses at an earlier than average age then she most probably will have a longer than usual menopause.

Also, most often the daughter’s menstrual history will follow that of her mother’s. Some of the biggest health problems that women develop after the onset of menopause include osteoporosis and heart disease. Apart from the more serious health problems that develop there are also the inconvenience of symptoms like hot flashes, sleeplessness, night sweats, hair changes, headaches, fatigue and gaining of weight. One of the main causes of weight gain is the drop in estrogen levels that takes place in menopause.

The problem most often associated with menopause is the hot flashes that a woman in menopause experiences, and this is the symptom that motivates the woman to seek medical help. Menopause and weight gain is one of the factors that negatively influence the body image and self-esteem. As a woman first enters menopause the hormone levels fluctuate daily. Quite regularly the first signs of menopause are hot flashes, and the sudden onset of heart palpitations, especially in the early hours of the morning. This occurs usually in conjunction with sleeplessness or insomnia. Some women find that menopause and weight gain is a major problem, but there are solutions to the latter problem available.

The treatment of the symptoms of menopause include, but are not limited to, hormone replacement therapy ( HRT ), estrogen replacement therapy ( ERT ), anti-estrogens, low dose testosterone and low dose oral contraceptives if below 55 years of age. Naturopathic, homoeopathic, Ayurvedic, and other treatments and therapies are also available. In the next article we will discuss the various treatments and therapies available for menopause.

In conclusion, in this discussion on the symptoms of menopause we saw from the menopause statistics that the average age of menopause is 51 years but onset can be anywhere from before 40 years or up to 60 years.

Question by Mellie Vanity: How to get rid of headaches?
My mom has headaches everyday. She went to the doctor and had an MRI done, but nothing was wrong. Her doctor wasn’t very concerned, but he did say it might be one of the symptoms leading up to menopause. The headaches really bother her, she takes Excedrin and Motrin but it doesn’t help it. Any other ideas that would possibly take it away?

Thanks so much!

Best answer:

Answer by Elizabeth Michaels
well, my mother had awful menstrual migraines, and since she only wanted one child, the doctor told us about hysterectomies (sterilization by removing the uterus). ever since she had the procedure, she has had no headaches. if it is something with menopause, i have no idea. if not, and it has something to do with her period, it seemed to work.

The symptoms that come with menopause are such that a little relief would go a long way towards making the woman lead as normal a life as possible. As a matter of fact, no one has been known to take a week off from work because they were experiencing menopausal symptoms. What lots of women do is to find suitable ways of making it bearable.

The following herbs are suited for relief during menopause.

Red clover: this herb poses very no danger even in large doses while working so well to take care of hot flashes. Even for women having problems like cancers which could be hormone sensitive, they are still safe. You can be sure that you will not suffer any more headaches or depression once you commence the taking of it. It has been proven to reduce anxiety as well and it reducing dryness of the vagina.
Agnus Castus: chaste berry, for that is its other name helps to balance the hormones in the body. At this time of acute hormonal upheavals, you need it to boost the pituitary gland and correcting this imbalance of hormones.
Milk thistle: other than aiding in the relief of menopausal symptoms, this herb is able to tackle certain liver problems.
Theanine: this herb is good for relieving stress and related symptoms. You stop being nervous anymore.
Dong Quai: this one originates in china and has ability to reduce the effect of hot flashes.
Black Cohosh: of the many symptoms of menopause, black cohosh is known to relieve most. These range from headaches, nervousness and hot flashes as well as the thinning of the vagina which is usually accompanied by dryness of the same region.
Primrose oil: since hot flashes are the most dominant feature among menopausal symptoms, this oil reduces their frequency. This ensures that you are more at peace and in control.
Ginsen: the root part of ginseng is a renowned remedy for insomnia and such other problems as digestive tract disorders. These are common with menopause and it is easy to handle their acuteness with ginseng. It is also warfarin interactive. Warfarin is an anticoagulant.
It is best to understand that menopause is not a disease. Every woman passes through it. a medical look at it can therefore only address the acute nature of its symptoms. What that means is that the above herbs are recommended to tone down the hormonal effects and make the frequency of certain symptoms less disturbing. It is even possible to totally eliminate some of the symptoms like insomnia related problems. Headaches can be reduced and so can nervousness and mood swings. A medical adviser can point at several of them and highlight your specific needs, recommending some and ruling out the others.

Whether you like it or not, a time’s going to come when your body begins to slow down. As far as a woman is concerned, menopause is the first definite sign of aging. But, menopause does not happen overnight. In fact, it is a very gradual process and in some cases, the transition may take up to 14 years. Irregular periods and the gradual stopping of the monthly cycle is the first indication of menopause. Every woman knows that. But, even before you periods begin to taper off, there are some early symptoms of menopause that can help you handle this tricky time in the most effective manner. That said, it is important to remember that the symptoms of menopause are highly unique. Each person has different experiences during menopause.

Early symptoms of menopause:

Changes in the monthly cycle: This is perhaps the earliest warning you can get. Your monthly cycle may become erratic. You may experience that what used to work like clockwork once upon a time has now developed a life and will of its own. You may also see that there is a change in the normal patterns of your cycle.

Hot flashes: Many women know exactly what this means. For no apparent reason, the back, neck and face may become hot due to the blood rushing to these areas. Some women even experience sweating, may become red in the face and may be hot to the touch. Women who experience hot flashes may also go through night sweats.

Night sweat: Some women may start feeling very cold in the middle of the night while they are actually sweating copiously. This is a surefire symptom of menopause.

Mood swings: This symptom may well go unnoticed because it simply creeps up on you. Many women complain of depression, feelings of unexplained sadness, anger and frustration. Even positive emotions are experienced. Whatever the emotion, it will be intense and there is a constant swing from one end of the spectrum to another.

Incontinence: Pregnancy is a leading cause of incontinence. Menopause is another. If urine leaks when you laugh, cough or sneeze, you can consider it as one of the important early symptoms of menopause.

Tenderness in the breasts: As women go through menopause, they may feel tenderness and pain in the breasts.

Headaches: Erratic levels of hormone in the body can lead to feelings of discomfort including headaches. In women who have suffered from headaches all their lives, symptoms may be worse.

Dryness: One of the early symptoms of menopause is the feeling of dryness in the vagina. As the amount of estrogen decreases due to menopause, the natural lining of the vagina dries up.

Weight gain: Menopause is also associated with the slowing down of your metabolism. So, if you find that you are gaining weight for no particular reason, it could be a symptom of menopause.

Many menopausal women experience symptoms of joint pain. Medical experts have investigated the connection between hormonal changes and this type of pain.

Some women experience pain in joints and muscles, mouth discomfort, headaches and some even report heart palpitations. Interestingly, women who suffer from tension headaches, abdominal pain or facial pain symptoms are decreased after menopause. Scientists feel now may indeed be a link between estrogen, hormone levels and their fluctuations, and this phenomenon

Menopause and Joint Pain: Symptoms of Menopause

Menopause occurs when a woman stops ovulating and menstruation ceases. Most women reach menopause between 45 and 55, with an average age of about 50. However, about 1% reaches it before the age of 40 years, known as premature menopause or premature ovarian failure.

Some women (the luckiest of the lot) may experience some symptoms, while others complain of mild to severe. However, the reassuring part is that the variation is normal. Women who experience pelvic pain or cramps during menopause can remember who have the same right before or during menstruation and this can have a link to your hormonal cycle.

A common phenomenon during menstruation, pelvic pain is known as dysmenorrhea. However, if these stomach cramps occur during menopause and are severe enough to interfere with daily activities, then it could be an underlying condition and should be checked by a doctor.

The list of symptoms of menopause is really comprehensive to be listed in full, however, most commonly observed symptoms include hot flashes, joint pain, hair loss, dry skin, unexplained headache, vaginal dryness etc. Before reaching menopause completely independent of these symptoms, the woman may have irregular periods may be heavy or light in flow. The irregularity of menstruation is in fact one of the “symptoms of menopause” first fires his approach to menopause.

It should be emphasized here that menopause is a natural phenomenon of the female body and not a disease or illness. The distress ratio is the only aspect that differs from one individual to another. So to get relief from pain or discomfort, the patient may have to seek medical advice. The Internet also has a variety of information on measures and alleviation of menopause.

Allergic symptoms during menopause can cause acne, rosacea, psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis. Some aid donors are different topical medications for the problem. Certain types of seborrhea responds well to antifungal drugs like ketoconazole cream, others respond well to sulfa-based compounds. Some need occasional short courses of cortisone cream. Menopausal women should be careful not to exaggerate the cortisone. This can have harmful side effects if used over an extended period, or if the drug used in the thin skin is too powerful.

Menopause and other allergy problems ranging unexplained episodes of anaphylaxis due to an abnormal response to progesterone which tend to be pre-menopausal, but can occur at any time. The pathogenesis of this disorder is unknown, but laboratory studies suggest that progesterone can induce or basophil histamine release directly or make mast cells more sensitive to other degranulators mast cells.

Menopause symptoms are caused by fluctuating hormone levels in the female reproductive system and these can be very irritating however 70% of women bear these symptoms while approaching menopause but their effect can be reduced if not completely avoided by using natural remedies. Generally menopause symptoms start to show up in the age around 40, this stage is called pre-menopause and gradually these symptoms get more and more intense as woman gets closer to menopause.

Some common symptoms of menopause are hot and cold flashes, these are sudden and passing waves of heat or warmth experienced in the body and in some cases may even cause redness on face and upper body. Night sweating is also experienced by most of the women in which woman perspires heavily in the night while asleep. These two symptoms generally accompany each other. Vaginal dryness is another symptom associated with menopause causing atrophy of female genitals making it rough and thin. This can also make genitals prone to yeast and bacterial infections.

Irregular menstrual cycle is common symptom of menopause where a female sometimes have very short period of bleeding and on another cycle may have heavy bleeding. In some cases woman skip periods and do not have any bleeding on date. Mood swings are also evident as a woman approaches menopause these mood swings are temporary but make the behavior of the woman very unstable.

Hair loss, loss of concentration, memory lapses can happen to any person but if accompanied by other symptoms of menopause are caused due to hormonal fluctuations in the body of female. Fatigue, dizziness, weight gain, incontinence and brittle nails can be symptoms of many medical conditions and they can be evident in woman approaching menopause too. Some other related symptoms of menopause are change in body odor, more severe headaches, breast pain or softness, aching joints etc but these symptoms alone are not clear evidence of menopause unless accompanied by other symptoms too.

These are the most common natural menopause remedies:

Black Cohosh

Black cohosh is a herb that can effectively treat menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, inability to sleep (insomnia) and anxiety. It is considered as one of the most effective menopause remedies and can be taken by boiling its roots and making a tea out of it. Most commonly, it is taken as an oral supplement because finding a Black Cohosh would be difficult.

Ginseng

Apart from being known to be effective in treating and preventing other known diseases, ginseng has also been known to treat menopausal symptoms such as headaches and insomnia. It can be taken as a beverage (tea) or can be taken in capsule forms. It is one of the known effective menopause remedies that’s why it is most often used even as an alternative to coffee and other common beverages, or included as an ingredient in many beverages nowadays.

St. John’s Wort

Pharmacologically, St. John’s Wort is used to treat depression. Since menopause can also contribute to emotional instabilities, it may lead to a person being depressed. In this light, St. John’s Wort is also used to treat menopause related depression and mood swings.

Red Clover

Red Clover is known as a popular menopause remedy because it mimics the actions of estrogen, the hormone of women. Estrogen, as we all know, is responsible for the woman’s secondary sex characteristics. This hormone also falls short when menopause happens. Since red clove contains phytoestrogens, it lets the body adapt to the decline of the said hormone and relieves headaches, night sweats and the like. It also lessens the possibility of having breast cancer.

Find powerful herbal remedies Hormone Replacement.

Vitamins and Minerals

Since the body’s essential hormones start to decline with the onset of menopause, some menopause remedies may come in the form of vitamins and minerals like Vitamin A, C and E to keep our skin healthy and most importantly Calcium since Calcium and Estrogen have similar actions. This is also one reason why women who are already in the menopausal stage are prone to developing osteoporosis.

Headache Ringing Ears Dizziness

Menopause is a point in a woman’s life when she stops menstruating for a full year and this can be overwrought with many symptoms, some bearable and some discomforting.
Menopause symptoms like mood swings, loss of libido, extreme fatigue, hot flashes and weight gain are a cause of concern for most women. However, less common symptoms like Tinnitus- ringing or buzzing in the ear- change of body color and sometimes a sensation akin to electric shock under the skin may be worrisome. Headache Ringing Ears Dizziness

Medical opinions associate Tinnitus with menopause. According to many studies, this
ringing in the ears is a physical condition that can take place due to other reasons as well. Medicines like Prozac and regular aspirin may cause Tinnitus and research is underway to establish the role these medications play in causing hormonal changes during menopause.

Menopause and Tinnitus: Causes

Many women may opt for an HRT, (Hormonal Replacement Therapy) as a treatment for early menopause, hysterectomy and peri-menopause or because their physician recommended it. Certain studies point a finger at HRT aggravating Tinnitus, as it uses artificial progesterone to ensure regular cyclical bleeding.

Most people experience Tinnitus as age sets in and menopausal women are not the only sufferers, though they seem worse affected than men. The onset of Tinnitus in menopause can make the best of us complain of fluid retention, depression, headache, dizziness, insomnia, raised blood pressure and migraines.

This ringing in the ears can be linked with both peri-menopause and menopause for women in their forties, fifties and sixties more, as compared to any other age group. Another theory links menopause symptoms of sweating, hot flashes and mood changes to side effects of Tinnitus. Circulating hormone estrogen and progesterone can lead to or aggravate Tinnitus during menopause. Headache Ringing Ears Dizziness

Menopause and Tinnitus: BHRT

Modern times have seen medical developments leading to Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy that has gained more popularity than HRT. This is mainly because BHRT consists of plant compounds, is identical in structure to human hormones, and therefore found more effective than HRT. This news brings hope for women going through menopause and putting up with Tinnitus as it may relieve them of the side effects associated with traditional HRT.

Menopause and Tinnitus: Effects

Menopause brings with it other issues like emotional stress and vitamin and mineral deficiencies, which can be common antagonists leading to Tinnitus. Nutritional deficiencies of B Vitamins, zinc, folic acid, antioxidants that are crucial in maintaining the overall health of women, may bring on Tinnitus or worsen the existing condition.

Menopause and Tinnitus: Treatments

Hope springs eternal and women’s health experts offer simple solutions to the problems associated with menopause and Tinnitus. The first step is exercise and good nutrition, as these are beneficial for overall general health and bring relief from the persistent ringing in the ears.

Shifting hormones during premenopause and menopause can often cause headaches. Some women will get migraines or other headaches for the first time. Others may see their migraines disappear. When you have a migraine headache, you are usually sensitive to light and noise, and you may also have nausea and vomiting. Migraines usually last at least four hours, and can be up to a week long.

If you are in your forties and getting these headaches for the first time, that could be a sign that you are entering perimenopause. Perimenopause is the term for the years leading up to menopause, when physiological changes begin to occur, often resulting in different symptoms.

In addition to shifting hormones, headaches can be caused by high blood pressure, birth control pills, or hormone replacement therapy. Another issue that can arise in perimenopause is new food allergies or insensitivities. One of the symptoms of a food allergy is a headache.

There are steps you can take, both to prevent menopause headaches, and to help relieve the pain once you have one. In addition to medications, there are several natural approaches that can be effective with headaches. Herbs, vitamins, exercise, and changing your diet are some approaches that can work. Once you determine the cause of your headache, it will be easier to tailor an effective approach for prevention or pain reduction. Some herbs that can help are feverfew, scullcap, peppermint oil and lavender oil.

Progesterone cream can help with menopause headaches, but it can also cause headaches. This is where you need you learn to listen to your body. I have found that caffeine can do the same. During perimenopause I was drinking 3 cups of coffee a day. Once I cut back to two, my headaches disappeared. They came back a year or so later, and I started using progesterone cream. This eliminated my headaches, gave me better sleep and stabilized my moods. Once I had built up enough progesterone in my system, using more of it started giving me a mild headache in the morning.

Biofeedback is a way of becoming conscious of some of your body’s processes and then learning to change them. Blood pressure and temperature are two of the processes one can learn to change with biofeedback. You can buy your own machine for around 0 or get trained by a biofeedback specialist. Once you are trained, you no longer need the machine to produce the results.

Acupuncture is one of the treatments used by Traditional Chinese Medicine. The practice has been used for thousands of years in China. Acupuncture is the use of needles along certain points of your body to relieve pain. Many insurance companies will cover acupuncture.

Exercise can also help to clear your blood of excess hormones if that is the problem. A simple walk or a few yoga exercises may do the trick.

Headaches can be a symptom of menopause, or you may find your headaches disappearing during this time. If you do start getting headaches, there are many natural remedies to explore.
