Fibromyalgia pain relief?
I have been dealing with Fibromyalgia for years. I am only 30. No matter what I do to try and relieve the pain, I can never seem to entirely relieve it. I’m sore and tired all the time. my shoulders and neck are constantly tense. I have pain in my legs frequently. I feel awful a lot of the time because i am in pain. I also wake up with headaches from the shoulder and neck tension. This effects most things I do.
Some things I have tried have been somewhat effective, but I have had no long term benefit. They seem only temporary.
I go to the gym 3 days a week to use the weights and stretch my muscles. I go to pilates. i cannot afford frequent massages, though they really help. I am relatively active. But avoid overdoing it because i end up exhausted.
I will not take Lyrica because I know there are other ways to deal with this. I am doing this med free, I believe people don’t need medication for everything. What have other people found effective? Has anyone had long term benefits? Is there a way to relieve the pain on a long term scale?

There are several treatments: physical therapy, warm or cold compresses, anti-inflammatory medication and sometimes an anesthetic or cortisone injected directly into the trigger points. The symptoms can wax and wane over many years. And good luck.
If it really is fibro-
ANTIINFlAMMATOTIES don’t help as ther eis NO INFLAMMATION
I realize that med (even homeopathic ) can have bad side effects-but I will never undersatnd why people are Completely against them….
The first thing you need to do is educate yourself
know that fibro is highly overdiagnosed-and you need to confirem the diagnosis for yourself…many docs us it as a term for general pain-or pain form a notehr condition-or pain form lifestyle choices—or pain they are too lazy to think about
Know what it is NOT
you will probably be referred to fibrofix in another response–
know that it is PURE QUACKERY-that person did not have REAL FMS-she was one of the many misdiagnosed.
REAL FMS IS NOT
thick body fluids
body acid
a liver problem
there are not 4 types of fibro–there is 1 cause-a disorderof the neuro system—there is evidence of problems with processing neurotransmitters *serotonin, norepinephrine as well as blood profusion in the brain
there are 3 approved meds Lyrica, Cymbalta, and Savella..
any alternative approach you choose should focus of regulating teh neuro system-not focus on the body itself-
teh body is only a symptom-the cause is the brain
It is NOT
autoimmune
musculosjkeletal/arthritis/rheumatologiucal
a vitamin deficeincy
pyschologiucal
Even most Rheumatologits are incompetant when it comes to FMS
Best thing I have found for treatment is massage therapy. I go every 2 weeks and it keeps the headaches away and reduces the pain in my neck and back. I make sure I get a decent sleep every night, usually 7-8 hours and know that if I don’t get a good sleep I will have flare ups the next day.
