headache during pregnancy?
I am 31 weeks pregnant and my third pregnancy. I am having constant headaches. I am taking extra strength tylenol and it’s not working. I never experienced this with my other two kids. I talked to my OB and all they said was to go to the emergency room. They didn’t take me serious. My blood pressure is fine. What else could be causing these massive headaches? I don’t feel that a headache is worth a trip to the emergency room and my OB isn’t giving me any help. Anyone experience anything like this?? Any suggestions as to what it could be?

I don’t know what’s causing your headaches, but after suffering with a headache for 3 days about a month or so ago, my doctor told me I could take Excedrin Tension Headache. The ingredients are just acetaminophen (Tylenol) and caffiene. Make sure you don’t get the kind with aspirin. I’m like you, Tylenol does absolutely nothing for me. And the Excedrin worked like a charm. It’s worth a shot anyway before you head to the ER.
Experiencing headaches during pregnancy is one of the most common discomforts and complaints. Headaches may occur at any time during your pregnancy, but they tend to be most common during the first and third trimesters.
It’s probably from: Stress, Lack of Sleep, Low Blood Sugar, or caffeine withdrawal.
Try: practicing good posture, a little bit of R&R, eat right, and try to exercise.
I had really intense headaches while pregnant. Sometimes its just hormonal fluctuations and you really the only thing you can do is take tylenol and try to rest and stay as stress free as possible. Have you had your blood sugar checked yet? If not that could also be a source.
I am not sure why they want you to go to the ER, what can they do there that your OB can’t? I would try to get a second opinion. See your regular doctor and explain your concern and maybe they can refer you to a neurologist. Waiting in the ER is just going to give you a bigger headache. I did have a friend who had really bad vertigo during pregnancy and she was put on meds to help.
