Question about daily headaches?
I have chronic headaches, lasting all day every day for over two years now. They are driving me crazy… I have been to two different neorologists, several doctors, an allergiest and even the chiropractor. I have had two cat-scans and an MRI, all came back normal. No one seems to know what is causing them.. Has anyone else experienced this?? Or has any idea on what I can do next?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I should have put this in my original post. My headaches are constant pressure type pain.. The best way I can describe it is.. putting a balloon on both temples and filling them with air.. Stress really makes them worse. When they are real bad they are a trobbing type. I am very sensitvie to light and sound, when they are real bad. I have tried about every migrane meds avalible. topomax, and the like. Any kind of physical activity worsens them, even walking.. It is very frustrating to spend all this time and money on drs. and no one can figure out what causes them.

Don’t give up. In your shoes, I would bet tempted to give up, but don’t.
I would find another neurologist, specifically one who is a headache specialist.
Get your eyes checked by an optometrist and perhaps even get examined by an opthamologist.
If you haven’t already, I would also see a dentist for a regular checkup. While you are there, also mention the headaches. It’s amazing how much our dental health can impact our overall health.
If it doesn’t sound too new age-y to you, consider acupuncture.
Finally, and I’m sure you’ve already done this, pay close attention to your diet. Is there something you consume regularly that you’re perhaps not allergic to but maybe sensitive to? Like caffeine?
Hard to give any additional advice without hearing why type of headaches they are (where in the head/neck hurts; is it on one side only; how would you describe the pain; are they there when you wake up; any nausea?; sensitivity to light; etc.)
I have the same problem. I have even had a spinal tap to see if I had meningitis.
First, watch your diet. Do you drink diet soda at all? The aspartame in diet soda can cause headaches. I had the same sort of chronic headaches all through high school until someone suggested I avoid aspartame.
I really suggest keeping a headache journal – record what you were doing, what time it started, how bad and where it hurt, what you had to eat/drink recently.
I really hope you figure out a way to reduce those headaches. I’ve been there, so I really sympathize
It sounds like either migraine or tension headaches. Do you feel nauseated, sensitive to light, or feel like the headache is like behind your eyes or even just on one side of your head? Or are your neck muscles really tense? These types of headaches are really common and wouldn’t necessarily show up on any type of tests that Drs. run. The only thing that might show that you are having pain is an increase in systolic blood pressure, but even that will eventually normalize. The only thing to do is talk to your doctor about your headaches and try to get some pain medication that is stronger than anything you can by OTC or learn some relaxation techniques that may help (like deep breathing, etc). You may also want to start watching your habits closely and try to find out if you can figure out what is causing the headaches (like maybe certain foods). And you should try to get an appointment with the opthamologist to rule out having vision problems which can also cause headaches.
I have a three techniques that usually relieve my headaches pretty quickly:
1) a gradual cold shower at around 20 degrees Celsius.
2) Cold face immersion:
Pour a vat of cold water that is around 12 degrees Celsius. This is between very cold and painfully cold water. Take a deep breath and submerge your face and half of the head (hold the head horizontally) in water. Turn your head slightly from side to side to improve cooling. Remove your face from the cold water after 10-15 seconds or sooner if cold water starts to cause pain in the facial skin.
Wait 30 to 120 seconds. Repeat the procedure 5 to 7 more times. You can do it all day if necessary but 7-8 immersions will usually reduce headache substantially and you will be pain-free for the next 1 to 2 hours. If the headache comes back after 1-2 hours, repeat the session.
3) Complete colon cleansing. Bacteria living in intestines may release some vasodilatory agents and if these are constantly absorbed into the bloodstream, they may cause chronic unending headaches (this is related to the ancient autointoxication theory). A recent poll of people who use colon hydrotherapy on a regular basis revealed that many of them use it to relieve headaches (see one of the references below).
pl see what suits you.
If you are in cold country use all warm things.
Pl try cold water bath and observe if in hot country, if pain increases use warm.
If you have cough/cold body hot water bath will help.
Massage and exercise in front of morning sun is good thing, pl try.
Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief.
If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture.
There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache, Ear ache/ringing, Stomach ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes.
None of them can be treated with medicine.
Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Pain killers don’t treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.
Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits like dates, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves’ juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point (with round tipped pen/jimmy) 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.
For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.
It may disappear naturally too.

Headaches are a common side effect from prescription medication but perhaps you are not taking any.
