Should I stop taking the pill due to mood swings and headaches?
About 2 years ago, I was told I am going through premature menopause. My doctor put me on Norinyl 1/35 to regulate periods and prevent osteoperosis. I’ve been taking it for 2 years now. I am now having severe PMS and when I am on the placebo, beginning around day 4 or 5, I get severe headaches that nothing seems to get rid of. The headaches have been coming during placebo almost since I first started taking the pill but they are increasing in intensity now. I’m 46 and I don’t know if I should just quit taking the pill and go through menopause or if I should try to treat the other symptoms and continue with the pill. I used to take fiorinol for migraines when I was a young mother and again when I started the premenopausal symptoms. I don’t want to go through the mood swings and hotflashes again.
I guess it’s been longer than I thought. I started taking the pill at 39. I also read where the last 4 days placebo has estrogen. I haven’t been actually taking the placebo because I thought it didn’t do anything. I think I’m having estrogen withdrawals so I will take the placebo and see if it makes a difference

might try another kind
however headaches with them are not good
You should talk to your dr about your options of other pills, or going through menopause…
YES! YES! YES! When my mom was going through menopause she opted out of replacement hormones because of their negative effects on a woman’s body. My mother inlaw had a pulmonary embolism because of the hormone therapy she was on. I used to be on Yaz birth control. It caused me to have migraine headaches and light/sound sensitive headaches so my doc switched me 2 Quasense (generic seasonale). dont put up with pain. Their are healthier options out their. Do some research. Dont be fooled. jus because your going through menopause that doesnt mean u need to take hormones.
