Some background, I have had headaches or migraines since I was a kid (I’m 32 now) over time they started getting worse in intensety and more frequent. I have had several MRI’s but they come back fine. I have tried about 20 different preventative meds. I am on Topamax and Depakote daily right now. For pain I take toradol shots for the less severe and for the more severe headaches I take Fioricet w/ codeine. I don’t take the pain medication to much during the week because I don’t want to get rebound headaches or have my body get used to the medication. I have tried the headache diets, got extra sleep, less sleep, excercised more, then less, lost weight, had blood work done. I am making sure to give everything a chance to work but they don’t. Please anyone out there help me with any ideas you may have!!!!!

I am 27/f and for the last 10 years I have had chronic daily headaches. I have been to a million doctors, had cat scans, mri’s, been checked for every single thing and everything has been negative. Also off and on for the last 3 years, I have had tingling, muscle pain, eye pain, majoyr neck and back pain. I have been checked for lyme and ms and it has been negative as well. My headaches and back/neck pain are real bad. Any advice.

I have been complaining about these for more than two years and my doctor has not once done anything. She hasn’t told me why I get them or what causes them. I went to a neurologist she asked me five questions and said “mhm” the entire time. If someone complains about these more than once don’t you think they should give me answers? Maybe make me take an MRI or CAT scan? Just because I am 15 they don’t take me seriously. It really bothers me that I don’t know why I get them. I know the usually reasons, not drinking enough water, stress, anxiety and whatnot. I am completely healthy except for my headaches. What do you think causes them? Should I have any tests done?
Could I just go to a walk-in clinic?

I am 25 and i have had a headache every day since I was 16.I have had a MRI of my head and of my neck. all they found was mild degeneration of my cervical disks. I have gone to the chiropractor and had no relief. I had eye muscle surgery because they said that was why I was having the headaches. On top of the headaches I do not sleep well. I recently had a sleep study and they found that I dont reach the final stage of sleep known as REM sleep. I also have been told that I have IBS, which was at about 16 too. I still have chronic stomach pain as well. I take pain pills and muscle relaxers which never really help. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do next.

I have been on seizure meds., narcotics, triptans, and a list of other meds. for it. EEG,CAT,MRI, Sleep study=all normal. Any suggestions from anyone? Oh yea, I am expecting a couple of smart ellic comments- come on show your “lack” of intelligence.
smells and bright light trigger my headaches. A bananna smell will trigger it.

I have had problems with headaches for near on 2 years, from the minute I get up to the minute I go to bed. I have had treatment through a Chiropractor but had to stop as it was costing me too much and have, just recently, been referred for a brain scan which showed abnormalities, subsequently I went to see a specialist who diagnosed me with Chronic Daily Headaches and prescribed me an anti-depressants as a muscle relaxant to knock me out basically. After 3 months this dose has stopped working so they have increased the dose but I just feel lousy and its having know effect on my headaches yet, I am soooo tired and starting to feel quite down! The Doc wasn’t very supportive and asked me what I wanted her to do!! she said she felt medication wasn’t going to help me and didn’t really know whatelse to do, I feel like I am being told to just live with it but sometimes I just cant, any feedback or ideas on this would be gratefully received. A big thankQ to everyone for your time xx
Oh also I cant take painkillers of any kind because when I do take them the specialist said my brain is just sending out a bigger headache so that I, in effect, end up with like an addiction to pain releif, and the pain killer doesn’t work anyway just dulls the pain!!

For the past 6 or so months I’ve had terrible headaches, including times when I break down crying in front of anyone because of the pain. It’s gotten to where if I have a headache, no matter the cause, I cant stand bright lights and if I see even the sun it kills me. Mostly the pain is in my forehead, top of the back of my head, and around my neck area. It gets very hard sometimes to cope with these headaches because they’ve been going on for not too long, and I’m not used to much pain at all. I’ve even gotten to where I wont go out with friends sometimes because I dont want to risk getting a headache and having to leave in the middle of everything. I’ve always had throat problems (sore throat, strep, sinus, ect) but it’s only been recently that I’ve had these headache problems. I’ve tried all kinds of medicine, painkillers and whatnot, but none seem to work longer than 30 minutes. Is it possible I have chronic daily headaches, or is it something else?
Thanks so much for the help.:)

I have migraines that seem to go on forever and I don’t react well to treatment. When I’m not having pain, I’m having the other symptoms. I had a headache specialist who said I had Chronic Daily Headache and Migraines. How can I be sure that they’re just regular migraines with chronic daily headaches?

I have been smoking for 30 years, but about 2 years ago I began to have chronic daily headaches. I have been through CAT scans, MRI’s, physical therapy, pain management, etc., but nothing has stopped the headaches. Just wondering if smoking may be causing them.
