I have got exams coming up and so have been doing a lot of revising and reading and have found that i have been getting headaches every day and my vision is slightly blurry, but nothing that serious, its just uncomfortable more than anything really. Do you think that it sounds like a might need glasses?

I have spoken with my doctors nurse over the phone and she says that they have to do a sleep study at the local hospital in order to prescribe oxygen tanks, however my migraines aren’t related to a sleep disorder why would this be necessary? I’m just looking for an alternative relief to my migraines since nothing else seems to be working at this time. Has anyone else been down the road to getting oxygen before and how did it happen for you?

I’ve noticed in the past few months that my boyfriend has been getting headaches, I suspect that they’re migraines. He’s 21, drinks water constantly, a little overweight, but active, always playing softball or soccer. He’s a high-stress type of person. He has a fairly balanced diet and rarely eats fried foods. He has been getting sick more often than he did last semester.
Any thoughts as to what might be causing these headaches? I think it might be because of stress, but b/c they happen so often and so severely, I just want to be sure.

So You Have Been Given A Diagnosis – Has This Been Helpful To You?

I suspect not, for diagnosis is based on a set of signs and symptoms – a diagnosis does not give you any information as to what is causing your headache or migraine.

The diagnosis you have been given is based on the International Headache Society’s classification system. However, because consistent research is lacking and evidence for assumptions is inadequate, a large part of the diagnostic classification system is based on expert opinion and compromise; the system is subject to criticism and frequently challenged. The authors of the classification system have acknowledged this, indicating that the system is unwieldy, lengthy and very detailed and that it was essentially intended for research rather than as a clinical tool. This is not assisted by the fact that there are overlapping symptoms between cervicogenic (neck-related) headache, tension-type headache and migraine (making differential diagnosis unconvincing), and increasing evidence which suggests that the different headache types share a common mechanism – perhaps the different headache and migraine types are not separate entities, but simply different expressions of the same process.

Since I slipped and hit my head quite hard on New Years, I have been getting headaches everyday since in the exact same spot. Is this something I need to be concerned about or should I just wait for them to go away?

headaches, feel jittery. I’m also crabby and I just wish everyone would just leave me alone and shut up! LOL. No sweating yet.
