Generally speaking, there are four types of headaches –
1. Myogenic – Muscular headache which occurs as a result of strain and pressure in muscles.

Two heads are better than one! A cluster of heads is still better! But this cluster headache is definitely not desirable! One should not suffer from this chasing disease.

There are a variety of causes that can trigger off a headache. It all depends on the individual and the triggers that would affect him.
Tension headaches are probably the most common type. They are usually caused by tension in the muscles in the neck, shoulders and face. Migraines are considered more debilitating and affect more women compared to men, with 13% of women suffering migraines as compared to 6% of men. Such headaches are commonly more intense and might linger for longer periods of time compared to tension headaches. Cluster headaches are also quite severe, and sometimes last for as much as several weeks.
Tension headaches are increasing common and almost everybody has had one some time or other. They usually only last for a short period of time, and are characterized by pain around the eyes and temples. The location of the pain is determined by which muscles are experiencing the tension. Although it is usually in the above areas, the pain can appear anywhere above the neck.

Suffered by over one million people in the United States alone (with 90% being male between the ages of 20 and 50), cluster headaches is one of the least common types of headaches. While the cause is unknown for this very debilitating type of headache, it has been reported that using alcohol during an attack increases its severity. However, no proof has been cited to conclude that alcohol use actually causes and onset of a cluster of headaches.
What Is A Cluster Headache?
Similar to the severity of a migraine, cluster headaches start suddenly, offering little warning of its advancement. Some people have reported a feeling of discomfort or a mild one-sided burning sensation in the head and face prior to an attack. The pain may be short lived (often less than an hour), but will disappear, only to return later in the day and into the evening.
