I’m a 35 yr. old mother of 2 little boys and just recently (5 months ago)started having chronic daily headaches along with intense neck/shoulder muscle tightening and pain. Initially it was just headaches and my PCP put me on Topamax 50 mg twice a day which seemed to help at first. I started the Topamax at Christmas time. Since then the headaches have returned along with the intense muscle tightening and pain in my neck and upper back/shoulders. I’ve tried the chiropractor which seems to have done nothing. My PCP wants to do a cervical spince x-ray, but since my husband does MRI’s for a living he did one on me today and didn’t seem to see anything out of the ordindary. I just don’t know where to go next. I don’t want to have to be dependent on a lot of different drugs. I’m wondering if I have fibromyalgia or something else wierd or if all this could just be from stress and tension. If anyone has any suggestions that would help I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

I have had some early pregnancy signs but not many and not often other than daily headaches and hot flashes. I did not know I was late until 7.5 weeks. I had a 3lb weight gain overnight and felt I had larger breasts, but no tenderness. I almost threw up at the smell of mint tea and the site of blood the other day. I have never missed 2 periods. Is this pregnancy or instant menopause?

Headaches are often unbearable and if you suffer from frequent and long lasting tension headaches or migraine headaches, you may have condition called TMJ disorder. Other common symptoms experienced in suffers of TMJ syndrome are headaches, jaw, ear or facial pain and even decreased hearing. Clicking or popping of the jaw and neck, as well as shoulder pain, are the frequent effects of TMJ disorder. Even though TMJ is a common disorder, many people are unaware that they have this condition and continue enduring the pain.
There are a number of things that cause TMJ with the majority of cases resulting in an incorrect bite, tooth grinding and malocclusion. Malocclusion means that your upper and lower teeth do not close together in the correct way and are misaligned, causing trauma. Fortunately there is a treatment for the headache caused by TMJ syndrome that will remove the symptoms permanently. The procedure involves patients having a bite assessment, identifying the ideal bite and subsequently achieving the ideal bite through Orthotic Therapy. Orthotic therapy requires you to wear an unobtrusive oral TMJ splint during the day and in the evenings. The TMJ splint is designed to replicate your natural teeth and will not obstruct functionality.

Migraine headaches are severe headaches that often begin in one area of the head and then spread to other ears.
