If you’re facing menopause as a result of a surgical procedure, you’re not alone. As a matter of fact, approximately 36,000 women under the age of 45 undergo total hysterectomies each year, causing them to enter into “surgical menopause.”
Unlike natural menopause – even early menopause – which is gradual, surgical menopause results in a sudden (and permanent) drop in estrogen and androgens, which can often contribute to extremely severe menopausal symptoms. Those symptoms include hot flashes, fatigue, sexual dysfunction, depression, migraine headaches, vaginal dryness and cardiovascular symptoms. Many women have reported hot flashes so severe, their ability to function as they should was significantly affected.

Chiropractor treatment is an alternative remedy that can be effective at providing relief from physical symptoms suffered during menopause. Although many women have success with this treatment, others have found success with another drug-free therapy known as biofeedback.
What is biofeedback? Biofeedback is a technique that teaches an individual to consciously control their body’s involuntary responses including blood pressure, temperature, muscle contractions, heart rate and brain waves. A person receiving biofeedback is hooked up electronically to machines so their physiological process can be monitored and relayed back to the person as a tactical, auditory, or visual signal.

Also known as the natural option for those who do not want to undergo Hormonal Replacement Therapy or HRT, the herb known as Black Cohosh is making itself one of the best possible options for women entering their transitional years. The problems associated with menopause are quite numerous and quite irritating, to say the least. The uncomfortable hot flashes, mood swings, headaches, bouts with depression and all the other problems associated with menopause have always been treated with therapy that gets women to take in doses of medication that has estrogen to help replace the hormones that are fast disappearing from their systems due to age. While this may be very effective for some, there are women who want a more natural way of boosting their hormone levels to a degree that can help them comfortably cope with the changes they are going through, both physically and emotionally. With the use of Black Cohosh as a natural supplement to help with menopause, women are beginning to find comfort in a more natural way of fighting the problems that menopause brings.

If you’re experiencing menopause, then you probably remember a television commercial a few years back; (ok … maybe more than a few years back); that asked the burning question, “Who made the salad?” The family sat around the dinner table about to begin their meal. Someone would ask that all important question, and after everyone would look inquiringly at the rest of the family, the salad dressing that the commercial was promoting was then prominently displayed, and the happy little gathering would rejoice and begin eating. Typical family meal, right? Actually, my own family meal regularly mocked that commercial by asking “who made” whatever we were having.

Tales of wild mood swings, extreme physical changes, night sweats, and the infamous “hot flashes” have served to create significant anxiety in younger women contemplating their entry into that life stage.

The menopause or change of life begins at different ages. A woman usually experiences this at age 50 but it may start as early as 30 or be delayed until the late fifties.
Heredity, living conditions, and childbearing all play a part in the menopause. Its arrival may be hastened by a bad environment and those who have never given birth. Early menopause may result from disease or the surgical removal of the ovaries.
