Although the symptoms are generally the same, migraine headaches come in different types. For women, migraines are generally related to the fluctuations in hormones from menopause and menstruation. Perimenopausal and menopausal women are likely to experience migraine headaches when hormone levels fluctuate, but there are other menopause symptoms that will cause migraine headaches. There are psychological and physical aspects that also affect incidences of migraines.
Psychological influences include emotional fluctuations (like mood swings), anxiety, and stress. These specific influences are a result of a chemical imbalance in the brain and need to be addressed quickly. The chemical imbalances are what trigger the migraines.
I am now living with a constant headache. In August I started getting headaches daily, usually in the afternoon, and they would subside by evening. Went to dr. and got prescription for Prozac (couldnt go on a tricyclic antidepressant cause it gave me delayed gastric emptying a few years ago). Don’t know why she didn’t give me Imitrex. Anyway, now I wake up with a headache, go about my day with a headache, and fall asleep with a headache. It’s throbbing and usually all over, although sometimes I get a piercing pain in the right side of my head that usually lasts no more than 15 mins. I’ve been sleeping a lot lately, 13+ hrs a day. I also usually don’t have much of an appetite. Could this headache/migraine thing be symptoms of a serious problem, or is it just due to the depression/stress? I am going to the dr. tomorrow but want to know if there’s anything specific I should ask her about.
I have a migraine headache right now. Tylenol has no effect. I had coffee, I also had a Nap but my Head still aches. It is already 5 hours now
Change in Temperatures I think triggers my Migraine. The weather is getting colder in the morning but in the afternoon it is still Warm.
Other suggestions and recommendations please. Thank you very much
