Subsequent to getting tensed, you can experience stress. Tension can be attributed to having inadequate amount of sleep and can even provoke a headache. It is usually vital that you have enough sleep to prevent headache.

Some foods with food additives like cheese, chocolates, MSG, caffeine, etc. may cause tension headache as well. An individual may not be aware that the food he ingested is triggering a migraine to happen. Depression and anxiety, meal skipping, not enough physical exercise, fatigue, hormonal changes like menopause or being pregnant for a woman, cigarette smoking, alcohol ingestion are other elements which might trigger the appearance of head pain.

Particularly when overused, having to take medicine is usually a headache set off, too. Because medicines are most frequently taken everyday as maintenance or day-to-day supplement, it’s unavoidable usually. But this problem could be solved. In the event the throbbing headache comes about often, one can talk to one’s physician for a possible switch of medicine.

So it is essential to keep a record and pay attention to how many times head pain occurs plus what manner it occurs. Everything can help avoid tension headaches. It is actually only a matter of lifestyle management.
Contraceptive pills are very important for women who want to avoid unwanted pregnancy. For a significant amount of time, the condom was considered to be effective protection against pregnancy. However, soon issues of condom tear or slips were reported. Women can now avoid contraceptive accidents much easily because of combined contraceptive pills. Combined contraceptive pills consist of two synthetic female hormones: oestrogen and progestogen. This medication not only gives you 100% protection from pregnancy, but also regulates your menstrual cycle so that they are less painful. The most commonly known combined contraceptive pills are Yasmin, Microgynon and Cilest pill. These medications can be easily purchased online.

Yasmin:

Yasmin consists of ethinylestradiol, which is artificial oestrogen, and drospirenone as its active ingredients. These ingredients trick the body into believing that the ovulation has already occurred so that there is no production of eggs. It also thickens the cervical mucus so that no sperm is able to enter the womb. The womb lining is also reformed so that any fertilised egg can’t attach and grow. In many cases, it improves the appearance of skin and reduces the risk of weight gain. You need to take this pill for 21 days of the menstrual cycle, with a seven day break. The pill has to be taken on the first day of your period so that you get instant protection. The possible side-effects of this medication include headache, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. You can buy Yasmin online from various clinics after going through an online consultation with doctors.

Microgynon:

Microgynon is one of the many combined contraceptive pills that are highly reliable and safe. The main ingredients of this drug are ethinylestradiol and levonorgestrel. Ethinylestradiol is a synthetic oestrogen and levonorgestrel is a synthetic progestogen. It is extremely useful for endometriosis and premenstrual tension coupled with painful periods. It works the same way as that of Yasmin. The pills are taken for 21 days out of the menstrual cycle, with a seven day break at the end. Like other contraceptive pills, Microgynon is also available online at various online clinics. You just have to start with an online medical consultation where you need to submit your past medical history. Microgynon should not be taken if you have heart related problems, high blood pressure, blood clot problems or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Cilest:

Cilest is another oral contraceptive combined pill which is considered to be 100% effective for preventing unplanned pregnancy. The active ingredients of this pill are oestrogen (ethinylestradiol) and progestogen (norgestimate). These synthetic hormones thicken the cervical mucus so that the sperm doesn’t enter the womb, the womb lining is altered so that egg fails to attach itself and lastly, the eggs are not allowed to be released from the ovaries. This drug should be taken on the first day of your period for an assured protection. However, it can also be taken up the fifth day but some other alternative contraceptive like condoms should be used for seven days. This pill also has mild side-effects like other contraceptive pills, such as nausea, vomiting, headaches, breast tenderness, weight changes and vaginal thrush.

Entering motherhood is a dream for every woman. Pregnancy is one the happiest times of a woman’s life when she can feel life blooming in her womb. These times, however, need to be chosen by a conscious decision to have a baby rather than by an accident. Women choose not to get pregnant for various reasons. At times, they might have financial constraints or they might be going through some social problems. So, let us discuss a few ways to prevent a pregnancy.

How to prevent pregnancy?

Having a baby or preventing a pregnancy is a big decision for a woman. A woman has to be prepared to have a baby and at times when she is not, she might look for ways how she can prevent pregnancy. Let us have a look at some natural ways to prevent pregnancy:

A woman should understand each and every aspect of her ovulation cycle so that she is well prepared to deal with it. She should know the starting as well as end date of the cycle.

A woman, by using a basal barometer, should check when she has her fertility period during her monthly cycle. This is the best way to know is she is fertile or not.

A majority of women experience tenderness in breasts during their fertile period and this is also when their libido is high.

She must abstain from sexual intercourse 3 days before the ovulation cycle starts and also after 3 days of ovulation.

One of the best methods to prevent pregnancy is withdrawal method, wherein the male is supposed to withdraw the penis before ejaculation.

Medications

Use of medications such as Yasmin and Loestrine can help in preventing pregnancy. Let us have a detailed look at how they work.

Yasmin

This pill works by preventing ovulation and making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus by thickening the cervical mucus. Apart from being used a pregnancy prevention medication, it is also used to treat acne in women. You should not use Yasmin if you are pregnant as it can cause birth defects in unborn babies. Also, do not use it if you have circulation problems or you have a heart disorder.

Loestrine

Loestrin is a medication that contains a combination of synthetic versions of naturally occurring female hormones that are responsible for preventing ovulation. This contraceptive drug makes it harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus. Only a good doctor can tell you if you should take Loestrine 20 or Loestrin 30.

Basically, oral contraceptives and birth control pills are used to prevent pregnancy but these medications also have certain side effects. It is better to consult a doctor before using these pills. Self medication can be dangerous. Women who use these drugs for a long period of time to prevent a pregnancy suffer from side effects such as nausea, headache, vomiting, tenderness of breast, lowered sex drive and spotting between periods. Since these pills target the ovulation cycle of a female, there are chances that a hormonal imbalance occurs in the body, which leads to certain complications.

In the world of migraine headache sufferers, every moment can be filled with an anxiety over the possibility of another episode. A migraine headache can easily incapacitate its sufferers and put them out of commission for hours or even days. While the causes of a migraine differ from person to person, the suffering is often the same.

Migraine headaches are pervasive in this culture as more and more people experience its repercussions at some time during their life. But the ongoing sufferers – those who experience migraine headaches many times a year – have spurred continued research regarding the causes of migraines. The causes of the migraine may be varied and complex depending on the person experiencing it, but the process is the same. Research has shown that the symptoms of a migraine headache occur when the blood vessels of the brain become enlarged in response to particular irritants. This inflammation of blood vessels affects the central nervous system and, in many cases, the digestive system.

The result of this irritation can mean a variety of symptoms for the migraine sufferer including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, blurred vision, sensitivity to light, smell, and noise, and, in some severe cases, complete incapacitation for the length of the migraine. Clearly, those who suffer severe migraines on a frequent basis are subject to the interruption of their daily routine and sufferers often report difficulty in their jobs and family life. It is no wonder that the prime concern of those who suffer from migraine headaches is not only the treatment of migraines but the prevention of them as well.

Some common causes of migraines include exposure to smoke, excessive caffeine intake, red wine consumption, lack of sleep, high levels of stress, and particular foods such as those that contain certain additives. Research has also shown a correlation between migraine headaches and hormone fluctuations which may explain the propensity of women to migraines; women are much more likely to suffer migraines than men.
Because the irritants that can spark a migraine differ from person to person, it is essential that each migraine sufferer keep careful track of the frequency and circumstances surrounding their migraines. For this reason, experts agree that there is merit to keeping a migraine journal that documents all details of the episode. With careful tracking over the course of several weeks to months, sufferers may be able to see a very clear pattern of migraine triggers that they will be wise to avoid in the future.

In some cases, simply avoiding personal triggers will help to eliminate migraines. But when migraines continue, it may be necessary to consult a doctor. There are advanced methods of drug therapy that have had quite a bit of success with severe migraines.

The first step in preventing a migraine headache is to recognize the symptoms that actually cause the migraine to occur. One method of doing this is to keep a “headache diary” in which you will record the severity of your attack as well as the foods you consumed during the 24 hours prior to each attack.

Some of the other factors to prevent a migraine are to maintain a regular schedule. This includes eating your meals at the same time each day and keeping consistent sleep hours seven days a week.

Another method to use as a preventative of a migraine would be the use of vitamin supplements such as vitamin E, vitamin B-2, and vitamin B-6. You should consult your physician prior to taking these vitamin supplements to make sure that you are taking the proper dosages. Vitamin supplements help to stabilize your levels of estrogen and serotonin.

An additional method to prevent migraine headaches is to schedule some “nurturing time” for yourself. This would include anything that you enjoy just for yourself. Examples would include listening to music, reading, playing with your pet, or anything else that will relax you and you find enjoyable.

Practice a relaxation technique such as yoga, meditation, deep breathing or biofeedback once or twice a day for approximately fifteen minutes. This will help relieve any stress you may be experiencing and can help prevent a migraine.

Deep breathing is another way to prevent a migraine and includes the loosening of your clothes and sitting in a quiet place. You should breathe in as you count to five, then out for the count of five. “Breathe in relaxation, breathe out tension.”

Biofeedback is another technique you can use to prevent a migraine. This is a high-tech relaxation aid in which you are hooked up to a mechanical unit that measures your skin temperature or muscular tension. With practice you will learn to raise your body temperature or loosen your muscles. Either way, your body will relax.

When you are traveling from one place to another, give yourself plenty of time to pack so that you are not rushed. This feeling of pressure to rush can make you feel stress and will give you the conditions that can lead to a migraine. Do not carry heavy bags with your neck or shoulder strap as this can also lead to the stress that can lead to a migraine. Avoid drinking alcohol during airplane flights.

A final way to prevent migraine headaches is to exercise regularly. Physical activity relieves stress and boosts your levels of endorphins, the body’s pain-relieving chemicals. You should exercise at least three times per week starting with some moderate, noncompetitive workouts. Competitive exercise boosts your stress level.

These days, some 45 million people suffer from recurring headaches. And we spend $4 billion a year trying to get rid of them. Despite how common headaches are, everyone experiences them just a bit differently. The three general different types of categories are tension headaches, cluster headaches, and migraines. Since any headaches makes you feel miserable, distinguishing between the three categories may seem like splitting hairs. However, it is recommended you should know which type you are prone to, especially if your pain is chronic. It enables you to manage your pain more effectively. Here are some tips that you can consider to adopt to get relief fast and to head off headache in the future.

1.	Learn To Relax

Prolonged stress can cause the muscles in your neck and shoulders to tighten, leading to a tension headache. When you feel those muscles tensing up, that is the time to slow down and if you can, to remove yourself from the stressful situation. In fact, you do not have to wait until you are tense to take action. Allow yourself some time every day for relaxation. Find a way to interrupt your stress, even if only for a half-hour.

2.	Move It

Staying in one position for too long, whether you are hunched over your desk at work or curled up on the sofa watching television, can contribute to a headache. Get up frequently and stretch your muscles.

3.	Cool It On Caffeine

One cup of coffee or another caffeinated beverage may help half a headache. More than that can actually trigger a headache. The more caffeine you consume, the more likely you are to experience headaches. If you need to cut down on caffeine, do so gradually. Otherwise, you might develop a caffeine-withdrawal headache. It usually starts about 18 hours after you drink your last caffeinated beverage and peaks 3 to 6 hours later.

4.	Don’t Go Hungry

You are more prone to get headaches if you go for long periods of time without eating. The theory is that skipping meals causes changes in blood sugar, which in turn trigger a reaction in your body that sets you up for a headache.

5.	Head For Your Medicine Chest

Over-the-counter pain relievers such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and acetaminophen are still the treatment of choice for many folks bothered by headaches. These medications work equally well, so which one you choose is really a matter of personal preference. But you should not be using painkillers on a daily or almost-daily basis. If you are, you should see a doctor.

6.	Send The Pain Packing

Wrap a frozen gel pack in a towel and place it directly on the area that hurts. Apply the pack for up to an hour, once or twice a day. You can purchase gel packs in drugstores and medical supply stores.

7.	Feel The Heat

Apply a heating pad to your neck and shoulders to relax tight neck and shoulder muscles and ease a tension headache. Or take a hot shower, allowing the water to beat on your neck and shoulders and loosen the muscles.

Tension headaches, which are the most common types of head pain among adults, bring about mind-numbing pain. The pain is a result of the tightening of the muscles at the back of your neck and your scalp.

Naturally, you can’t go on with what you’re doing when you get tensions headaches. You can’t concentrate. It’s literally too painful to think. This is why you should do whatever you can to prevent them from developing.

Here are some tips to drive away tension headaches:

1. Control your temper.
Stress triggers tension headaches. When you feel the ache build up as you argue with your colleague or when you’re stuck in traffic, just breathe deeply and try to cool down. If you don’t get your temper in check, you may suffer from a tension headache that lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to a week.

2. Have good posture.
Muscle tension elsewhere in your body causes tension headaches. Having good posture helps keep your muscles from tensing up. So, when standing or walking, hold your shoulders back and your head high. Then, pull in your abdomen and tuck in your chin.

3. Don’t carry too much.
If you’re going to be on the move all day long, don’t carry a bag that weighs more than two pounds. The heavy load will just strain on your muscles. If you must carry heavy loads, make sure that you go on breaks.

4. Get relief right away.
You must treat tension headaches right at the onset. Rest, ice packs, or a hot shower may help. You could also take over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen. But, if the pain persists, you should see a doctor immediately.

5. Go to a quiet, darkened room.
Most people who suffer from tension headaches are sensitive to noise and bright lights. So, go to a quiet room with soft lighting to get away from the sensory overload. Spend at least an hour in the said room until you feel much better.

6. Keep yourself hydrated.
Dehydration causes your veins to constrict. When you blood circulation is compromised, your brain’s oxygen supply is affected as well. This is why you should drink as much water as you can throughout the day. You should also lessen your caffeine intake, as the substance causes you to get dehydrated.

7. Stay away from stressors.
If you don’t want to get a headache, you must make the effort to avoid any possible stressor. At the very least, you should limit your exposure to them.

A migraine headache is a form of vascular headache. Migraine headache is caused by a combination of vasodilatation (enlargement of blood vessels) and the release of chemicals from nerve fibers that coil around the blood vessels. Migraine headaches typically last from 4-72 hours. They may occur as often as several times a week to only once a year. People who have migraines are called migraineurs. Migraine headaches affect about 15% of the population. Three times as many women as men have migraines. Over 80% of migraineurs have family members who have migraines. Migraines are classified according to the symptoms they produce.

The two almost popular types are migraine with atmosphere and migraine without atmosphere. Migraines almost usually are establish in women, with a 3:1 female-to-male ratio. In childhood, however, migraines are more popular in boys than in girls. Migraine with atmosphere is characterized by a neurological phenomenon (atmosphere) that is experienced 10 to 30 minutes before the worry. Most auras are visual and are described as sunny shimmering lights around objects or at the edges of the area of imagination (called scintillating scotomas) or zigzag lines, curly images, or hallucinations. Others see short-lived imagination departure.

Common migraine accounts for 80% f migraines. There is no “atmosphere” before a popular migraine. Migraine without atmosphere is the almost rife character and may happen on one or both sides (multilateral) of the chief. Tiredness or climate changes may be experienced the day before the worry. Nausea, vomiting, and sensibility to illuminate (photophobia) frequently follow migraine without atmosphere. A kind of drugs have been specifically designed to handle migraines. Medications used to fight migraines slip into two comprehensive categories. Pain-relieving medications too known as intense or unsuccessful handling.

These drugs are designed to halt symptoms that have already begun. Preventive medications types of drugs are taken regularly, frequently on a regular ground, to fall the hardship or frequency of migraines. Try to avert foods or new things that appear to induce migraines for you. Get lot of slumber and drink lot of fluids. Try to loosen and cut the strain in your living. Most migraineurs can handle mild-to-moderate attacks at house. Using a cold compress to the region of pain. If sure foods appear to get triggered your headaches in the past, consume something else. If sure scents are a trouble, attempt to avert them.

People who suffer from migraine headaches know just how difficult it is to complete even the simplest daily duties. Everything from house work to grocery shopping can be dreadful to someone who is suffering from these throbbing pains. In this article I will list several tips which can help reduce the severity of migraine headaches.

Maintain a regular sleeping pattern. Numerous studies have shown that people who do not go to sleep at the same time each night have a higher risk of developing migraines. That is why you should maintain a regular sleeping pattern. Be sure to wake up and go to sleep at the same time each day (including weekends). Try to get at least seven hours of sleep each night. Try a cold compress on your head. This approach helps subside and soothe the pulsating blood vessels. Be aware of what triggers your migraine. Some people experience migraines due to certain lighting. If this is a major cause for your head pains, try spending some time in a dark and quiet room. Consume your meals regularly. Skipping meals has shown to trigger migraines. Be sure that you consume your meals every day at the same time and at all cost, avoid the feeling of hunger. Do some research. There are various websites devoted to migraine prevention. These websites offer valuable information regarding foods which trigger these throbbing pains. Spend some time figuring out which foods have the highest migraine effects upon the body.

These five tips will help you prevent some of the side effects which are associated with these throbbing headaches. It is often difficult to find migraine headache relief; however, there are numerous herbal remedies to help you along the way. Everything from sleep aids to diet pills is currently available in the purest form.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen (eg Nurofen).

These products are effective and safe when taken according to the directions. Always check with your doctor or pharmacist, as some products are not recommended with certain health conditions or for children. Mild tension-type headaches usually respond readily. For severe headaches that do not respond, if medication is required several times a week, or for problems in taking medication, a doctor should be consulted.

Prednisone is a corticosteroid, a potent chemical that occurs naturally in the body. It is taken initially in high doses and then tapered over days or weeks, depending on the response. This medication is best if used for short periods of time.

Lifestyle changes may be enough to resolve some headaches. For example, avoiding the foods that are known to trigger migraines may prevent migraine occurrence for certain individuals. In addition, numerous prescription and non-prescription medications are available treat and prevent headaches. Several medications or combinations of medications may have to be tried to find the best treatment.

Overusing medication can actually lead to chronic daily headache. Medications containing ergotamine, codeine and caffeine have been specifically implicated but frequent use of any of the medications used to treat an attack can lead to daily headache. Your doctor will be able to help you find out what type of medication is best suited and safest for your needs. It is important that your doctor is consulted should you wish to reduce or discontinue any medications.

Patients with sinus headache describe a dull, constant pressure. The pharmacist can help the patient recognize this etiology by discovering the presence of a previous or coexisting upper respiratory tract infection. Quite often, the patient has tried to clear the respiratory passages by blowing his or her nose, which forces infected fluids into the sinuses. The pain worsens when the patient bends over. The physician will treat the infection with an antibiotic or antibacterial appropriate to the organism causing the infection, and the headache can be treated with analgesics.

Prophylactic treatment unless you have several attacks per month. If you take drugs this way, your physician will monitor you for side effects, such as weight gain, water retention, lethargy, memory impairment, and hallucinations. Do not try to combine any weight loss medications with prophylactic drugs, and do not stop taking the drugs suddenly.

Certain antidepressants are good at helping prevent all types of headaches, including migraines. Most effective are tricyclic antidepressants, such as amitriptyline, nortriptyline (Pamelor) and protriptyline (Vivactil). These medications are considered among first-line treatment agents and may reduce migraines by affecting the level of serotonin and other brain chemicals. You don’t have to have depression to benefit from these drugs. Newer antidepressants, however, generally aren’t as effective for migraine prevention.

A headache diary may help you identify the source of chronic headaches. When a headache occurs, write down the date and time the headache began. Note what you ate for the preceding 24 hours, sleep pattern and amount of sleep, what was being experienced immediately before the headache, unusual stress or other circumstances, how long the headache lasted, and what made it stop.
