want to get my first tattoo on my neck but i have chronic tension headaches& tight muscles… PLEASE HELP!?
I really want to get my first tattoo on the back of my neck but i have daily headaches. I have been getting treated by a neurologist and have been diagnosed with chronic tension headaches, frequent migraines. I also have very tight muscles in my neck and back that i get a massage for every week. I’m on a few different medicines to try to treat my horrible daily headaches, but nothing has been seeming to work. I recently starting getting steroid/cortisone shots into the area around my occipital nerve (back of my neck).
With my history of headaches and neck/muscle problems would it be a bad idea to get my tattoo on the back of my neck?
I try

I dont think it’ll be a problem my buddy has his body covered of tattoos and he said the neck is where it hurts the least he said it feels like a massage . The only thing i find that may be difficult is your massages on the neck because your gonna have a tattoo so no one would be able to touch it for atleast 2 weeks
Well, seeing as you already get headaches everyday you’ll be used to the soreness of a tattoo. But you might want to ask your doctor for like an x-ray to make sure getting stabbed over and over on your neck won’t have any harmful affects. But I doubt it’s anything serious. Get a tattoo! It’s fun(before & after but not during) and worth it!
I wouldn’t at least not while having injections into the same area. Really, you need to discuss this with your Dr to see if this is a good idea or not. It could cause more problems than it’s worth.
I too suffer from chronic tension headaches.
Getting a tattoo on your neck will not worsen the headaches, your external neck muscles have little to do with the chronic tension headaches you’ve been getting. It may cause tension headaches that same day, but that will be short term and due to you tensing your muscles to avoid pain.
The only downside is that the area will be very sensitive post-tattooing. It will require for you to stop seeing the physical therapist for massages for at least 2 months (to be on the safe side). You wouldn’t want your new tattoo to be ruined, would you?
