What can I do for my headache and sleepless nights during pregnancy?
I feel miserable… Im under alot of stress and I just can not sleep. I feel like my head is gonna explode and my stomach feels like it needs to growl or like gas but its very uncomfortable. I been laying down for three hours trying to sleep and I can’t. I was the same way last night. Can I take nyquil or what can i do? I am 22 weeks pregnant.

Tylenol is all you can take. Nyquil is on the big list of No-No’s while pregnant as is dayquil.
take Morphine
I got horrible headaches when I was pregnant with both of my kids. You can lay down and elevate your legs. you can take a warm bath. make sure that you are in a dark quiet area. If you are having a really hard time your doctor can prescribe you a pain killer for your headaches. As for your stress the best thing I have learned is to talk to someone about it. It really helps. Good luck to you
You can take Tylenol for the headaches tho my OB said not every day.
Sounds like you have heartburn, I lived on Tums during both pregnancies! Another idea is to prop your head up so you’re not laying flat.
I was such an uncomfortable wreck I had 2 pillows beneath my head, one beneath my knees & one between my knees. I understand the discomfort all too well!!
i am 23 weeks now but never expierienced headache….but every1 r diff. try to eat full because sometimes if we were hungry we may feel headache and drink plenty of water and stay away frm computer n tv and sleep well and dont go out in the afternoons n try to take more rest
sorry i dont know abt medication ..
You can take Tylenol Extra Strength – 1 or 2 tablets every 6 hours. To help you sleep take 1-2 Benadryl before bed or get Tylenol PM and take 1-2 before bed. The PM part is nothing but benadryl (diphenhydramine) but all packaged together.
If it doesn’t get better your MD can prescribe Fioricet for migraines and Ambien to help you sleep – both are ok in pregnancy.
You can take unisom(its a over the counter sleep aide) – I’m pretty sure my doctor said to take it for nausea but you could call a 24hr pharmacy and I’ve also used peppermint to relieve gas pain ( I used peppermint tea.)
I am 20wks/4days and i unfortunately get all the symptoms (morning sickness til this day, migraines, pains, heartburn etc). Tonight is a good night but usually im dealing with migraines. I refuse to take any meds so i wet a washcloth with cold water and lie in the bed (no lights). Place the washcloth on your forehead and over your eyes. It helps me.. Hope it works for you.
if you have some one to massage your feet or back and play some slow music and count sheep.lol worked for me
For the headaches: Ice packs are your friends. Just one wrapped in a washcloth for each spot it hurts. when i get a tension headache i just put one on my forehead and one at the base of my neck, lay down in a dark quiet room, and its usually gone within the hour.
For the nausea/indigestion: avoid foods and smell you find unapealing. Also try to avoid acidic foods and drinks, they will only increase the stomach acid builiding up already. Tums are safe, and i have found drinking milk helpful. and if you feel like you need to belch, feel free, but go to the bathroom just in case its not burping that happens…
