What is your experience with Topamax to prevent migraines? How soon before you felt relief?

My Neurologolist prescribed it starting at 25mg up to 75 mg at bed time.

I was too concerned with the side affects of Topamax to fill the prescription from my regular doctor. I went to a neurologist shortly thereafter and he prescribed me elavil instead. It took about 1-2 weeks to build up. My mother, who also suffers from migraines, took Topamax briefly and had an allergic reaction to it (itching and swelling), so she stopped using it.
